Hanging Cage

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well where do I start. This idea came to me watching movies TV shows set during the Dark ages, knights, dungeons, and  castles stuff along those lines. Any way here goes.

I had some old wine barrel rings laying around so I decided to use those. If anyone knows anything else that could be used would love to have the info.

I took 4 wine barrel rings and drilled holes opposite each other until
each ring had 8 holes. I am not one to measure and plan,
sometimes this gets me into problems but I usually find a way.
I then cut up some 1x2's into 3 ft lengths.
Starting with the bottom ring. I lined up the holes and screwed
it together. I did this with each ring.
This is what it looks like with all rings attached.
I used some wood screws that I had lying around to put this together.
As you can see here they went through. I used my dremel ( God I love that tool!) to cut them off flush with the 1x2.
I didn't take any pics of how I did this wish I had, because I am terrible at explaining
but I will try.Its pretty easy.
I cut some 1x2's and laid them across top.
Where they crossed each other like in diagram A, I took a black marker and marked each board then using my chop saw I shaved half way through each section like in dia.B. Then I hot glued them together and screwed them to top.
Then I trimmed the edges to line up with the ring.

Did ya'll get all that? Hope so, I made it and I'm confusing myself! LOL
Now for the bottom. You could repeat what I did to the top if you so desire. I took a piece of plywood I had lying around and screwed it to the bottom. Then taking my trusty jigsaw cut and shaved off pieces until it matched the bottom ring.
I didn't take pics of putting chain on either but that was easy.
I drilled 4 holes where the1x2's crossed each other, purchased 4 eyebolts 2,3ft lengths of chain.
Attached the eyebolts then attached chain. There ya go all it needs is paint and your done!
Hang in nearest tree adding a little more ambience to your yard!
I intend to dry brush some brown for rust and add some webbing when I can get ahold of some. A little side note you will more then likely have to take your blucky apart to get him in. I had to remove arms . Then put him through one of the openings.

Here it is totally complete, corpse and all.
Happy prop building!
